Our business with Penny dates back to 1988 when we moved out of our house and used our the next-door neighbor, Penny Wright, to lease it for us. Over that 35 years Penny (and later Penny and Haley) have found us roughly 10 tenants and each one worked out well for us. When our most recent tenants informed us they were moving out effective Last November 1, we decided to sell that house. And as you might expect the decision of whom to list it with was a no-brainer - Penny and Haley. An ad for an open house on both Saturday and Sunday in Sebastopol came across my daughter's Facebook page. She/we were not necessarily looking to buy a new house but she thought she would just go take a look on that Saturday. She was so in awe of this property that I received a call immediately after she viewed it and she said; "Mom, whatever you are doing tomorrow please cancel it as you need to come look at this property". I agreed and my daughter, son-in-law and I went on Sunday to view it. We all instantly fell in love with it along with a number of other interested parties so we thought getting the property would be a long shot. It contained two homes that would accommodate my daughter's family and a house for me. The property just had this wonderful, majestic feel to it.

And herein lied the problem...we had no realtor as we were not actively looking and offers had to be in by Thursday. After our renters moved out, they oversaw all the renovations that were needed, which included carpeting, painting, filling in a wall, and some minor repairs, in addition to arranging the staging and cleaning necessary to prepare the home for showings. Because we were about to hit the year-end holidays, time was of the essence and they stepped in to make sure everything was completed in time. They held open houses every weekend during the holiday season until we finally got an offer, which was not until almost six weeks after the initial listing. We then had a very long escrow and they helped manage everything to be able to close even though everyone is under a "shelter in place" order in the Bay Area because of COVID-19.
